Rules & Regulation
All Canadian Hockey League rules are in effect unless otherwise outlined below.
Komoka 5 on 5 Spring Hockey League has the right to suspend or expel players for inappropriate conduct or for not playing by the Rules governing the league.
There will be NO BODY CHECKING. Body Checking may result in immediate expulsion from the league.
Games will be 50 minutes in total ice time including the 3 minute warm-up.
Each team will play with 5 skaters and a goalie.
Only registered players may play. Teams may use players from other teams in their division or lower. Unregistered players are not to be used and if used may result in the team being expelled from the league.
Two referees will be provided for all age groups except the Mite and Tyke. No time keepers are provided for any age group. Parents are welcome to keep score.
Up to 4 bench personnel (coaches, assistants or trainers) may be on the benches. All bench staff must be approved by the league and be a minimum of 20 years of age. All bench staff are to refrain from inappropriate behaviour and language. Inappropriate behaviour will result in game (s) suspension and may result in expulsion from the league.
There will be no buzzer for shift changes except for IP and Minor/Major Tyke which will have a 2 minute buzzer. Shift changes are to be made at stops of play and on the fly. IP and Minor/Major Tyke players will not do face offs at the sound of the buzzer - the puck will be left at the sound of the buzzer and play will continue from there.
Major penalties will result in the immediate ejection of the offending player(s) and will be further review by the League.
Any team that does not show for a scheduled game will forfeit the game. The team that showed may use the ice and referees for a game among their own players.
No refunds will be given after the registration deadline.
